During the months of circuit breaker in Singapore, delivery and takeaway have been the lifeline of many food operators. Many shifted their business model overnight and onboard different third-party delivery platforms to sustain their business. And now, quick, convenient, and efficient online ordering have become the norm for consumers.

 

However, the economics are manageable when delivery sales only accounts for a small portion of revenue. When that percentage increases, delivery sales becomes a drain on profitability due to hidden and intangible costs.
